About 130 years ago, adepts of Tibet known as “The Mahatmas”—El Morya Kahn and Koot Hoomi, whom we call Kuthumi, with others—made a decision that would change the course of history when they began presenting to the West ancient teachings that had been hidden away in the caves and secret libraries of Asia. For their initial effort they taught these teachings to Helena Blavatsky who published them in her books The Secret Doctrine, and The Voice of the Silence. At the same time other adepts and learned teachers of the East such as Yogananda and the monks of Ramakrishna in the Vedanta Society began to send other teachings into the West. Today a number of what were once secret “mysteries” are gaining popular attention. The teachings of the East have grown to cover the earth through several organizations, each sponsored by different masters and each directed toward a different group of seekers.
Today we are the inheritors of an incredible array of wisdom teachings that have shed new light on the universe we live in, how we got here, what we are supposed to be doing, our true nature, the “rules and regs” of this schoolroom of earth, the nature of our mission, and how we can accelerate its fulfillment. This, coupled with the new sciences and new insights in many fields, is what we call the "New Wisdom."
Mission and Dedication
New Wisdom University has been founded to assist Westerners to understand the revealed teachings so that they can apply them in their lives, and to train spiritual teachers. In addition to courses and programs on the New Wisdom, we offer training programs for those who wish to teach the new wisdom or minister from this perspective.

Our Founder and President
Rev. Dawn Covington, Ed.D. received her Bachelor’s degree in Communication with emphasis in Instructional Design from California State University, Sacramento. She earned her Masters and Doctorate in Adult, Community and Higher Education from Montana State University. As part of her training she had the opportunity to study and work professionally with the leaders of the Kellogg Institute for Adult Learning Research where she launched into a profound study of how we learn from our own Inner Teacher—the true teacher of all of us. As part of her research, she spent five years studying the teaching methods and communication practices of the world's greatest teachers, including many who are now ascended masters: Pythagoras (an embodiment of Kuthumi), Gautama, Jesus, Confucius, Benjamin Franklin, Francis Bacon and other great teachers who have left important legacies both in education and in their spiritual traditions. From these studies she has developed the principles and practices that form the foundation of our learning programs at New Wisdom University.
Dr. Covington has also received extensive training from the ascended masters in preparation for her service of mentoring and teaching students at New Wisdom University. She was ordained by and serves under The Mystical Order of the Divine Presence, a non-sectarian religious order.
In addition to teaching many of our courses and seminars, Dr. Covington also teaches at various universities around the country. She has taught communication courses at Montana State University and University of California Online University where she teaches an editorial workshop in the Journalism department. She currently serves as an adjunct instructor and mentor for Capella University's School of Education where her work with masters and doctoral candidates includes courses in theories of adult education, adult learning, critical thinking, cultural diversity, and evaluation of education and training.
